Product Name: Lays “Do Us A Flavor” Contest
Product Information: Lay’s just launched its “Do Us A Flavor” contest – a nationwide search for the next great potato chip flavor. Fans across the U.S. are invited to submit their potato chip flavor ideas for the chance to win $1 million in grand prize money or one percent of their flavor’s 2013 net sales (whichever is higher). From now until Oct. 6, consumers can share their flavor inspirations on the Lay’s Facebook page, with the winning flavor being revealed in 2013, the year Lay’s – America’s most-loved potato chip brand – celebrates its 75-year anniversary.
From the UK to Australia, the “Do Us A Flavor” contest has created some crazy creations, including Walkie Talkie Chicken, Chilli & Chocolate, Late Night Kebob and even Cajun Squirrel. Yes…Cajun Squirrel.
My Thoughts: We love chips and we are always happy to try some new flavors. My husband, who is a very bland and simple eater, is the biggest fan of new flavors! So we were excited when the package arrived from Lays that contained some chips.
We received a bag of Cheddar & Sour Cream, Classic BLT and Sweet Onion. The first bag to be attacked opened was the Classic BLT – my oldest girl recently discovered that she loves Bacon so she jumps at every chance she gets to have some! Of course she loved them – we all did. They reminded us of another brands loaded backed potato chips, which are a family favorite.
The Sweet Onion was absolutely delicious in my opinion and was great in onion dip. I would buy this again for sure especially when we were having people over.
If we could create a flavor we’d take the Cheddar & Sour Cream AND mix it with the Classic BLT Chip for an even more exciting flavor. Doesn’t that sound good?
(1) Koupon Karen reader will win three (3) of the following tasty Lay’s flavors:
- Cheddar & Sour Cream
- Classic BLT
- Sweet Onion
