All of Dr. Praeger’s products are also low in cholesterol and sodium, have no preservatives or artificial flavorings, no trans fats and no or low saturated fats. They are the perfect complement to an overall healthy lifestyle.

We received three products from the Dr. Praeger’s Sensible Foods line to review.  Here is some information on the ones we received…

Dr. Praeger’s Fish Products – Dr. Praeger’s prepares fish using the finest firm white fillets. Lightly breaded or potato crusted, the fish cooks quickly and turns crispy and golden on the outside, firm and flaky on the inside. There are no added fillers or excessive breading to mask the pure fish flavor.  We received  the Lightly Breaded Fishies which are lightly breaded minced wild Pollock fillets in a kid-friendly “fishie” shape.  They are all natural and made with no preservatives, expeller Pressed Canola Oil and they are certified kosher.

The girls like fish sticks so they were more than happy to try these but they were super excited to try these because they were shaped like little fish!    However, then they ate one and they were a little taken a back at first, especially my little one because they didn’t taste like the regular fish sticks they have – of course not, they were made with better fish products.  It took her a few bites to get over the initial realization that they were different but then she went along and ate them.  Of course they had to dip them in their favorite condiment – ketsup but whatever, as long as they ate them!

I then tasted them and they sure did tasted much better than what I normally buy them so it looks like I have a new brand to purchase!

Dr. Praeger’s Kids Products  – Dr. Praeger’s offers an entire line of sensible products your children will love to eat. They’re all natural, low in saturated fat and some are gluten free—all are quick and easy to make. They are sure to become your child’s new favorite, and the fun shapes will have them asking for more.  We received two of the kids products – one was the NEW Veggie Littles which are like their popular California Veggie Burgers in kid-friendly shapes. The Veggie Littles are made of seven different vegetables and spices including carrots, onions, string beans, broccoli and red peppers. We also received the Potato Littles which are a healthy alternative to French fries or tater tots.

The Veggie Littles I had tried while at the Blissdom Conference in February and I couldn’t wait for my oldest girl to try them.  I had a feeling she would love them, her sister not so much.  I was right on both counts.  But my little one is very picky and doesn’t like a lot of things including veggies.  Of course I didn’t tell her what they were but she figured it out pretty quickly.  I even let her dip it in ketup and offered her ranch dressing too, which is her second favorite dipping condiment.  But she wouldn’t eat them, not even a bite.  My older girl on the other hand gobbled them down along with me.

Along with the Veggie Littles I made the Potato Littles.  Those weren’t so hard to convince the little one to try because she likes potatos.  I told them they were just like potato puffs only better – and I was right – there are so much better than potato puffs as they don’t have that greasiness to them at all.  They tasted so much better and so much more like potatoes – my husband even liked them.  So those were a big hit in our house!

All of the products were super easy to make as I just popped them into the oven, turned on the broiler and they were done in no time.  Easy cooking and easy clean up.  I will keep these in my freezer for sure.

The Veggie Littles are all natural with no preservatives,  no saturated fat, no cholesterol, no trans fat and are low sodium, GMO free, gluten free and Certified kosher.
