While at the General Mills Eat & Greet we got to tour the Betty Crocker Kitchen and taste some new products. It was nothing like I imagined, it was even better. Here is an overview picture of one half of the Kitchen. Sorry about the glare, I took the picture through a glass panel.
The Trix Rabbit and Lucky Charms Leprechaun was there and pretty much everyone got their picture taken with them. Once we went downstairs to the kitchen we were given a list of all the brands that were there to sample. There were kitchen islands filled with samples (or full size) of so many great products.
Here is a review of half of the products that I tried. I will tell you about the rest in a separate post.
I began at Fiber One and there was a sample bowl of the new Caramel Delight cereal. They had milk too but I choose to try it without the milk.
Complete yummyness! Is that even a word?? This is something that I’d have as a dry snack. Maybe even mix some nuts into it or add this to trail mix. I thought it was a great crunchy snack. Of course it would be good with milk for breakfast too and it has 35% of the daily recommend fiber in each bowl.
I was able to bring a box of this home and I think my girls are going to love it.
I have been wanting to try the new Fiber One Muffins but didn’t get the chance until today.
They made us the Blueberry Fiber One Muffins to try and oh my they were delicious. I was very excited that I was going to eat something that they baked right there in the Betty Crocker Kitchen. These are going on my shopping list for sure!
You can get 20% of your daily recommended fiber in one muffin. But I don’t recommended having 5 muffins in one day though! LOL
Chex has a new line of Gluten Free cereal. I was unaware of this until today.
They had a bowl of Honey Nut Chex Gluten Free cereal for us to try. At first I wasn’t going to because no one in my house needs anything gluten free and then I thought about all my readers they buy things Gluten Free and I realized I needed to try it for them. I was glad I did. It was so good. It didn’t taste any different to me than if it had Gluten in it. There are 5 different flavors to choose from: Honey Nut, Corn, Chocolate, Rice and Cinnamon.
I had not seen the Yoplait Smoothies before but I did find out they haven’t be out very long. These are the ones found in the freezer section.
Basically what you get is a bag full of frozen fruit and yogurt bits. All you need to do is add milk and blend. So easy! You will get two 8 oz smoothies from each package which I didn’t think was too bad.
There are 3 flavor mixes: Strawberry Banana, Strawberry Mango Pineapple and Triple Berry. I tried them all and I did like them all but my favorite was the Strawberry Banana.
Another product I really wanted to try was the Yoplait Delights.
I wasn’t going to try one at first because I had just had the 3 smoothies and was starting to feel full but they convinced me to try the Lemon Tort and I give in so easily when it comes to food.
Now remember this is yogurt and it only has 100 calories. However it doesn’t taste like yogurt or that it only has 100 calories. The Lemon Tort tastes like a lemon square with 1000 calories! It was so good I told them I would make a cup of coffee to have with this it tasted so much like a piece of pastry.
I was very excited when they handed me a coupon for a free 4 pack. My husband will love the lemon tort too!
The Yoplait Delights come in 4 flavors: Chocolate Raspberry, Crème Caramel, Triple Berry Crème and Lemon Torte. Print a coupon for $1.00 off Yoplait Delights.
I tried 2 more yogurts but I don’t have pictures of them. The Yoplus + Digestive Health Strawberry yogurt and the Fiber One yogurt which only has 50 calories. I’ve already tried the Vanilla and I have the Key Lime in my refrigerator already so I was happy to try the Strawberry. Strawberry is one of my favorite yogurts. They were both delicious.
