For the Halloween Town giveaway entry, I asked you to tell me what your children (or you) were going to be for Halloween this year. It was fun reading all of the answers. I thought it would only be right that I tell you what my little girls were going to dress as this year.
My oldest decided she wanted to be a Princess again. Last year she was Snow White and this year she is going to be Sleeping Beauty. I looked all over the web for the best price and the best deal on costumes, especially with shipping. I don’t like to pay outrageous shipping prices. Funny thing was I found one I liked and the price was pretty good but the website was very slow so I decided to try another time. The next day we were in Sears and they had the same thing (actually I think it might be nicer) and it was not only on sale, but they were giving an additional 10% off so I got an even better deal.
My youngest likes Tinkerbell so it was pretty easy figuring out what she wants to be. Her sister has a Tinkerbell costume already but it’s too big for her so we had to get another one. There was no way of even altering it to fit her. So we began our search for Tinkerbell and surprisingly found a really cute one at Walmart priced just right. It’s a ballerina style one and she looks so cute in it!!
Yes, even though I am frugal each year we buy a new Halloween Costume. It’s tough to buy it the day after Halloween for the following year (when they are on deep discount) because kids can change their mind and grow many times throughout the year so there is no way around it. The good thing is my girls will get a lot of uses out of their costumes so if I can’t find the best deal, I’m OK with that.
Last year my best friend was at Target a few days after Halloween and all the costumes were on clearance for 75% off. There were a ton left and she noticed a lot of girl costumes. She has a boy and is having another one so she doesn’t get the chance to buy girly things too often. She immediatelly had the best idea and picked up the phone to call and ask if I would mind if she bought a bunch of fun costumes for my girls and put together a dress up box for them for Christmas. I loved the idea and I loved it even more when she called me back and told me she got about $100 worth of stuff for $20’ish dollars.
So there is an idea for Christmas! I’m going to tell her if she’d like to add to their dress up box again, to go right ahead. The girls love playing with all the cool costumes.
