Guest Post about Online Offers by Nicole….
I don’t usually consider myself a big risk-taker but I had been reading Money Saving Methods for months and was so intrigued by the number of people who were commenting about how they had done one of the I-Deal online offers recommended on there and had actually received their prize that I decided to do one. It was a great decision, one I don’t regret at all!
Online offers are offers online that I am sure you have seen before and said “no way” to yourself, that it must be a scam. They usually offer a FREE prize and while the prize doesn’t end up being completely FREE it does end up being a great deal. For example, I got a Wii and a Wii Fit for just $36.34 by doing an online offer through the company I-Deal. It took me about 3 hours of time and within 2 months I had my Wii and Wii Fit!
It really isn’t very difficult to do an online offer. Just choose the one that interests you below and once the offer page is open enter your email address on the day you will complete the offers. You will have 60 days from the date you register your email address to have completed all the required offers and have the redemption certificate received by I-Deal for processing. On the sign-up page, copy and paste the terms and conditions into a separate document or do a screenshot of them. The terms and conditions are the rules of your offer so make sure you read them and understand what you are about to do! After you enter your email address, keep clicking “skip” or not selecting any offers until you get to the silver offer page. Keep going until you get to the platinum offer page.
Choose your offers carefully. For my offer I had to do 4 platinums, 2 golds and 2 silvers. Start with the platinums first since there are the fewest number of offers on this page. The most important things here are to make sure that once you open an offer it shows as pending (open the offer in a new window, then refresh the screen under “check gift status” and it should show as pending. If not, click out of it and start again. If it doesn’t show as pending, even before you have completed the offer you won’t get credit for it) and that you aren’t completing more than one offer per parent company.
Unfortunately there is no easy way to know if offers are related. I google the companies names to see what I can find and make sure to look at their pages. If the companies have the same address or are in the same city they are probably related. It is up to you to make sure you are not doing more than one offer per parent company – doing so will result in disqualification.
Make sure you read the terms of each offer carefully. You should be copying and pasting the terms and conditions into a separate document or getting a screenshot of it. Do not use a debit card for these offers as if something is charged that shouldn’t be you are out the money until the issue is resolved. With a credit card you can just dispute the charge. I have not had an issue with this but thought it was good to mention. Check into whether your credit card company has a virtual credit card number program and take advantage of it if they do!
Plan to do all the required offers in one sitting and then check every day to see which have approved. If, after 14 days, all of your offers haven’t approved you’ll need to do replacement offers. it is very common to do replacement offers and it doesn’t mean that you didn’t successfully complete the offer, it means there was an issue with the crediting of it. Replacements usually credit within 1-2 days. Once all your offers approve, print the redemption certificate and complete and print the W-9 form (yes, you have to pay taxes on these prizes!) and mail using delivery confirmation (not certified, not signature confirmation – just delivery confirmation). This is important as, if your status hasn’t changed to processed within 2 weeks of the USPS showing proof that it was delivered, you’ll need to email with your delivery confirmation information. Once your status changes to processed it will be 6-8 weeks before you receive your prize!
Here are examples of some legit offers from I-Deal that you can do. I recommend doing an 8 offer giftcard for $500 to get started but you can choose any of them you like. Remember to go back and read my previous posts about how to be successful when doing an online offer here, here, and here. If you follow my instructions you should be able to complete the offer in about 3 hours time over 2 months and get your prize!
$100 to Gap, Spiegel, Charlotte Russe, or Sunglass Hut
Feel free to email me (firstname.lastname@example.org) or leave a comment on my blog if you have any questions. Please, please, please, read my previous posts on online offers as well as the comments on the posts and the instructions posted. It is very possible to be successful with these offers but you need to follow instructions! Good luck!
