Like most people I know, I do everything on the computer. It just seems easier and quicker since I’m on the computer a lot. I even type up my shopping lists on an spreadsheet but if I’m not on my laptop, I don’t have access to it.
I found a website called List2Shop that is an online shopping list that I can access from any computer. It’s free to use and simple. If you create a user name and password, it will save your list so the next time it will be even faster!
Here’s how it works. When you sign in you’ll see a list of categories, products and stores. When you select a category you will then see a list of products in the next box. Select the product you are going to buy. You can also select the store and then the list will be organized by store. I usually shop at a couple of stores each week so this is a nice feature for me. If your store is not listed in the list (not every store is there) you can add it. Once you add your store, it will always show up in your account.
Below the boxes you can put in a quantity, price and then a comment if needed. The comment section is a great place to list the coupons you’ll use. You can also note here if there is a specific size or flavor you want to buy. After that just hit “add to shopping list” and that’s it. Then continue through until all your items are on your shopping list.
If you don’t find a specific item in the items list, you can add it. Once you add the item it will always show up in your list just like the stores. If you are signed in this will only show up in your list so if you want to personalize it go right ahead to make it easier for you next time.
Once your list is made you can organize it buy moving things to the top or the bottom of your list using the arrows. I like to put my list in order of the aisles in the store so I don’t miss anything. Once your shopping list is complete you can save it for later or print it out.
I love this program and I will use it every week. My plan is to grab my store ads, a cup of coffee and as I go through the ad, I’ll make my list on List2Shop. This will be a huge time saver when making my shopping lists, I just know it. You can do this on your lunch hour while at work then print it out that night to go shopping. You can even access it from your Blackberry.
