I attended a Twitter party last night (#savvyblogging) and I chatted with a LOT of bloggers, big and small, and I learned so much from them last night. I need to spend some time going through the chat again because it went so fast I know I missed a lot. It’s so great to learn from other bloggers who have been there, done that and bought the book! LOL
One thing that we talked about was Monetizing our blogs and I noticed that some were afraid to try or didn’t know where to even begin so I put together a list of companies that I’ve worked with over the past year to help monetize my blog in the hopes of helping those who just don’t know where to begin and what to do.
There are lots of ways to make money with your blog but the number one reason to blog MUST be because you love blogging, not because you want to make money. Otherwise it’s not going to work.
Anyone can join affiliate companies no matter what kind of blog you write. There’s a huge variety of campaigns that these companies have so your likely to find something to fit your blog. My blog is about saving money but if you blog about other things, these companies will work for you as well.
And don’t just try out one company, try out a bunch because what works for me, may not work for you. It all depends on your content.
Here are some great affiliate companies I’ve done well with.
The following Companies have a nice mix of offers – Coupons, Free Samples, Sweepstakes, Surveys, Online Offers and more
OffersQuest.com – They have mostly Survey companies
OfferWise– They only work with Survey companies and are not always taking new publishers.
Shopping – If you review products or talk about products on your website, then you can ad an affiliate link to purchase that product online, and when someone makes a purchase you’ll receive a commission
Ads – These companies will run ads on your site that are relevant to your content. Just ad them to your site and that’s it! If you reach the monthly payout amount, you’ll be paid once a month. Very easy money!
Kontera –> I’d love to send you a referral email, if you’d like one then leave me a comment or email me
You will have to give them your social security number and fill out a W-9 for all of these companies and if you earn over $600 they will send you a 1099 at the end of the year, though you are required to report any earnings, even under $600. For this reason be sure you keep track of any expenses you accrue during the course of the year to offset your earnings. If your not sure what you can expense talk to a CPA.
I’m in no way’s an expert when it comes to Affiliates however I’ve been working with them for over a year now so if you have questions I’ll try to answer them for you. Also the Affiliate Managers for each company are very helpful and will always answer any questions you have. They want you to be successful as an affiliate too!
If you work with any of these affiliate companies and have had success, leave a comment and share with everyone. Also if I’m missing one that you work with let me know. I’m always looking for more affiliate companies.
