With the holidays slowly approaching I’m trying to keep a better eye on our budget so we have some extra money for shopping so this week we ate from our stockpile, went out to eat once and had dinner with my parents one night. Needless to say we were able to stay out of the stores and within budget. It was a nice week!
Groceries: I never stepped foot into a grocery store this week. However I did buy some homemade sausage to stock my freezer with so I did spend a small amount of my budget.
6lbs Home Made Sausage $4.25lb
Total OOP: $25.50
My weekly grocery budget is $85 so I am under budget by $59.50.
Drug Stores: I only went to Rite Aid to grab a few things that were free after Single Check Rebate and some things that were on sale.
Here is what I got: Missing from the picture is a bottle of grape juice, I completely forgot to grab it before I took the picture.
(1) Nonni Biscotti, $3.69
(2) Cookie Crisp cereal, $2.50
Used (2) $1.00 cpns
(2) Cheerios, $2.50
(2)Used (1) $1.00/2 cpn
Reese 8pks, $.88
(1) Carmex 2 pack, $1.99 —> Get $1.99 SCR
(1) Comtrex, $3.99 —> Get $3.99 SCR
(1) Sucrets, $2.99 –> Get $2.99 SCR
(1) Welch’s Grape Juice, $3.99
Used $1.00 cpn
(1) Hawaiian Punch Drink mixes, $.49
Total Saved: $27.24
Total Rebates Back: $8.97
Total OOP: $10.93
Savings of 78%
I always deduct the rebate total from what I spend because when the rebate check comes I just cash it. I will also be getting an $10 Fall Gift of Savings program so really my total would be $.93 but I am not sure if I will be getting a check from that or a certificate to use in the store so I won’t deduct it from my total. Either way I’ll take it.
My drug store weekly budget is $20 so I am under budget by $9.07. A good week all around.
Now this coming week I also don’t expect to do any shopping, we have a lot going on and again we can probably just use what we have but we’ll see.
