LeapFrog has a brand new product that is hitting the stores July 15th called the Leapster Explorer. Have you heard about it?? My family and I were lucky enough to receive one before it was offered to the public to test and and give our feedback on. My daughter’s were so excited when it arrived and they’ve been fighting over it since. LeapFrog has never disappointed me with their educational toys and I can say they’ve won me over with this new device too! I love the Leapster Explorer and so do my girls.
The size is perfect for my 5 year old and 3 year old’s hands but they have dropped it a few times because there aren’t any hand grips. But it still works great, it’s pretty sturdy! The Leapster Explorer does so much more than just play games. There are downloadable apps which include games, e-books, videos, flashcards and more! It’s like they took a bunch of products and made them all into one product where the learning is endless.
Our Explorer came complete with a nice variety of games and apps already loaded and ready to go. I’m so happy with what my girls have been learning through play. That’s the thing about LeapFrog, they know how to make learning fun. One of their favorite games is Pet Pad. There are bunch of really silly names for these pets that you can choose from once you’ve “built” them. Then you can go online and play with them.
This is a great device if you have more than one child because you can personalize it for your child so the next time they play all their stats are saved for them. I love that I can hook it up to the computer to see exactly what they are learning and how they’ve progressed. Since my girls are 5 and 3 there is a big difference in their levels of learning so I’m happy that the Explorer keeps them separate.

I’d like to win this for my twin neice and nephew! They just turned 5 in April and I think that they would absolutely LOVE this! They’ve played with other LeapFrog toys before, at friend’s and family’s houses, but they don’t have any of their own!!

my 4 year old daughter would love this. we have several leap products and love them all. I just wish some of the other games would link the way this does. I am always curious to see what she really is learning. even the zippity doesnt link up this way although I still love how much fun she has with it and even she asks “Can I excersize with the zippity”… shes learned how to ask for it so I cant argue. Way too smart.
