Name of Book: Daily Guideposts 2011: A Spirit-Lifting Devotional
Reviewed By Chris: Chris is a nurse and budding writer whose passions include reading and writing. She is also the mom to a sweet, yet high maintenance bassett hound. Her favorite writing project is her blog entitled “Thoughts and ramblings on life, love, and health“.
Book Review: This well written devotional is a day by day journey of stories intended to guide the reader through a time of reflection. There is an entry for each day which opens up with a scripture reading from the Bible. It is then followed by a true first-person story (more than fifty different writers contribute to the book) and on the bottom of the page, ends with a short prayer. In addition to this, there is a monthly “seeds of love” section where readers can write down their own thoughts/blessings.
The personal stories are short and concise, yet provide an uplifting story that gives the reader a glimpse of the various daily struggles that one can encounter. Overall the book is well organized and easy to follow. If spiritual and inspirational books are your genre to read, Daily Guideposts 2011 is a worthwhile read.
