Powermat Charging System Review & Giveaway ENDED

by Koupon Karen on September 12, 2010 · 330 comments

Product Name: Powermat Portable Mat

Product Description: The Powermat Portable Mat is a charging station you always dreamed of. One cord, one mat, one place to charge all your handheld devices. The Portable mat uses magnetic induction and Powermat proprietary technology to charge your handheld devices quickly, efficiently, and wirelessly. Fold the Portable Mat and place it in the convenient travel case (included) to take the perfect charging system wherever you travel. Attach Powermat receivers to your favorite devices — either the Powercube or a dedicated receiver — and place it on the Powermat surface to start charging. This charging solution charges up to three POWERMAT-ENABLED devices simultaneously (plus one USB power port) and easily folds and stores in the included case for travel. Adjustable sound and light indications give feedback that charging is occurring and magnetic alignment ensures perfect alignment and optimal charging efficiency.

Product Price: $99.00 which includes the powermat portable mat, powercube with 8 tips and power adapter.   Additional receivers available.

Purchase Information: You can purchase it online at Amazon and at Powermat USA.

My thoughts: I was heading to BlogHer in NYC this summer and I knew I’d be bringing along my iPod, camera and cell phone.  Each one has a seperate cord to charge, of course!  When I was offered a Powermat Portable Mat to take along with me, I didn’t even hesitate.  I knew it would help out.  When I received the powermat portable mat I immediately pulled everything out to see what I had.  There was a powercube with 8 tips along with a case to store it all in.  There was a tip that fit my phone, my hands free headset, my camera and my iPod.  They also sent me the Powermat Dock for iPod and iPhone which will actually charge all apple products.. nice!

It was extremely easy to set up and use.  The powercube just sat right no the mat to charge.  I did find I had to pick it up a few times to get it connect but then it was all set.  I was able to charge my phone and my iPod at the same time.  I could use one more powercube so I can charge my headset at the same time too.

It also comes with a little case to store some tips.  Notice I wrote some tips.. It would be nice if it was a little bigger so I could store all of the tips in one place but they don’t all fit.
The powermat came in extremely handy while at BlogHer.  It saved me from taking all my other power cords and because of the case, it took up almost no room in my suitcase and if you’ve been to BlogHer, then you know that space is needed while packing to come home!

I really need this station. I can’t never find my charger since my son and my husband have ipods and take my cell charger when they need and don’t return. This would solve a lot arguments in my house. Thank you for the giveaway.
