We received the Fellowes 73Ci for review and it came at the perfect time! When we moved we found boxes of old paperwork from a business I had over 10 years ago. It was time to get rid of that paper but I kept pushing it off because it was going to be very time-consuming, or so I thought. You see, I had a little shredded that sat on the top of my basket and I could only shred 2 sheets at a time. It was a dinosaur of a shredded and I was not excited about using it. Then we received the Fellowes 73Ci and it made that job of shredding so much better!

It was pretty simple to put together, just pop the wheels in the bottom and put the top on the basket.  The wheels didn’t go in too easy and I was afraid of pushing down too hard because the basket part is just plastic but after a few tries I got them all in place.  It also came with some oil and it recommended that I oil it each time I empty the basket.  I had no idea these needed to be oiled but it totally makes sense.  So before I used it, I oiled it.    That took all of 4 seconds.  Once I did that I began shredding papers.

It’s pretty quiet which I really liked and it moved along pretty quickly.  Once the basket was full, it stopped working and alerted me to empty it.   I actually just shook it a few times to let it settle before I added more.  I was able to shred more before I emptied it.

I love this and it now has a permanent place next to my desk and I have a feeling I’ll keep up with my shredding.
