Product Information: The iA17 is a unique color changing alarm clock radio for iPhone and iPod.  Wake or sleep to your own music or FM radio accompanied by the ‘Wake-to-Color’ feature, displaying an array of soothing yet energizing lights.

The GlowTunes translucent cabinet changes color at the touch of a button.  You set the mood with five color change modes: slow fade spectrum, favorite color, pulse to music, fast change spectrum, or no color.  You can start or end your day with your favorite sounds.

My Thoughts: This is a cool unit for a teenager that’s for sure.  But the round shape of it is also pretty to have on display in any home, I found it pretty sharp.  It looks like a speaker and I’d imagine if you had two of them (so the kids don’t fight over it) then they’d look great as a pair.  Just my thought.  But I really liked this speaker especially because it’s a little unique in how it glows.

What causes it to glow?  A push of a button!  You have total control over it so if you happen to purchase this for a boy, it doesn’t have to glow pink or purple if they don’t want it too.  You can set it at a favorite color and it will only glow that color.  You can set it to change colors to the beat of the music, which could be really fun for a party and you can set it so it goes through the color spectrum cycles pretty fast!  And of course you can set it for now color if you choose.  Pretty neat.  That’s why I think this one is perfect for a teenager.

It also charges at the same time.   All you have to do is dock your iPod or iPhone and it will charge while your listening to music until it’s fully charged.   It also has an alarm for those lazy teens that don’t want to get up in the morning.  It’s easy to set and it comes with a snooze button as well.

But my favorite part is the Bedtime Sleep mode.  This is really cool because if you like to fall asleep listening to music but you don’t want it on all night long it will gradually lower the volume of the audio over the time you specify.  It can be anywhere from 15 minutes to 90 minutes.  It also turns off a docked iPod or iPhone.   This is a really sweet feature!

And of course it comes with a remote control.
