I love to bake for the holidays, and I bake a LOT!  I’ve been doing this now for the past 11 years and I think everyone in my family looks forward to my cookies.  I even send my best friend in New Hampshire a cookie dish every year and she looks forward to receiving that package of goodies in the mail.  I’m so happy everyone enjoys my holiday cookies because some years it’s a struggle to get them done.

This year I’m planning better and starting early (and freezing the results so they stay fresh!) so I don’t struggle to get them done.  My plan also includes not spending an arm and a leg on the ingredients because lets face it, this stuff can cost a lot of money and with everything else we are spending money on right now, it adds up quickly!

So for the sack of saving time and money I’m using Great Value brand refrigerated products to help with my holiday baking this year!   I picked up some Great Value Cinnamon Rolls, Sugar Cookies and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough at Walmart to make the following THREE recipes:

Cinnamon Roll Breakfast Bites with Cinnamon Chips!! My family loves anything cinnamon and with all the excitement of Christmas morning, they don’t ‘sit’ to have breakfast.  Then they are all begging me for food before dinner is done.  So this year I’m going to make these Cinnamon Roll Bites that they can ‘grab and go’ for breakfast Christmas morning, so they aren’t famished by dinnertime.  Their small size will make them easy to eat in one or more bites and the extra cinnamon chips will give them a blast of flavor!

Sugar Cookie Cut Outs the quick and easy way!  Sugar cookies are another favorite and I like to make a lot because they are popular with the kids.  But making the sugar cookie dough can take a while because after it’s made I have to put it back in the fridge to harden up before I can roll it out to make the cookies.  So this year I’m using the refrigerated Great Value sugar cookie dough to save some time and money.

Quick, easy and oh so good Peanut Butter Cup Chocolate Chip Cookies!   My mother in law introduced me to these cookies many years ago and I’ve been making them since.   They are a favorite of everyone and many people I know now make them after trying mine!  Of course I see recipes popping up everywhere for them now with all sorts of chocolate goodies in them.  But they are super simple to make and just really good.  This year instead of making the dough, I’m using Great Value Chocolate Chip Cookie dough to save me a lot of time!

I’ll be baking this week and will share each of these with you next week.  But in the meantime, look through all your cookie recipes and see if you can substitute a Great Value refrigerated dough product to save you some time and money.  And let me know if you do!
