If you missed it, be sure to read my BlogHer Day 1 Recap first!

We were extremely busy on Thursday and Friday was no different!  But I was excited for what the day had in store for me.  I was so happy to be there. I want to mention again that I was fortunate enough to have two great sponsors for my trip.  Lane Bryant gave me a gift card to buy an outfit, which I turned into a few outfits with my thrifty shopping and Cook’s Ham sponsored my entire trip!  I’m very grateful to both of them!

Day 2 – Friday August 6th

I was happy to be able to sleep a little bit on Friday (unlike Saturday but you’ll hear about that next time) and I was refreshed and ready to start the day.  Last year I was a member of the Shop At Home Blogger Advisory board and they were at BlogHer this year and they had a really fun event planned.  They selected about 40 bloggers to go with them on a shopping spree to the Garment District with The Elegant Tightwade and they selected me as one of the bloggers!!  I want to point out, I’m not a big shopper when it comes to cloths or accessories but I was super excited to be selected because they gave us $150 to spend on our shopping spree!  I had no idea what to expect as I had no idea what the Garment District actually was (I’m not a shopper and I’m not a NYC girl either!).  But I found out and I had a blast!    I ended up buying myself a purse which I would of never bought for myself and I was so excited.  It’s Italian leather and it’s made by Bulga.

The next thing on our agenda was to stop by the Mom Select Suite and Getting Gorgeous both at the Warwick Hotel which was conveniently located across from the hotel and they were both on the same floor.  Made that very easy for us!   The Mom Select Suite had a bunch of brands there where we could talk to them about the products and also take some samples home.  I was so excited to see the Zuu Zuu pets.  Believe it or not we have not bought any yet and I knew my girls would love them.. and they did!  It was cool to chat with the reps and learn more about each products and of course get some fun goodies to bring home to my girls.  Pretty much everything in there was kid/baby related so that worked out perfectly!

After spending some time there we then went across the hall to the Getting Gorgeous Beauty & Fashion Event.  It was well organized and we really enjoyed ourselves there.  They had a Beauty room where we could get our hair done by a stylist using Remington products (you may remember I reviewed the Frizz Therapy Iron from Remington earlier this year).  I’m a big fan of Remington Hair products and I look forward to bringing you more items by them very soon!  E.l.f. cosmetics was also there doing make up and Kodak was there printing out pictures for us.  I’ m excited also about a product that I will be reviewing with Kodak as well soon!!!  There was also a representative of Powermat there, which is a portable charger that charges all your devices with very little clutter.  I’ll be telling you more about that very soon!

Then there was the Fashion room.  There we were able to try on a pair of Sketchers Shape Ups, which were pretty cool, we also had the opportunity to try on a pair of jeans that are supposed to make you look 10lbs lighter by Miraclebody.  I didn’t get a chance to try them on but a lot of the women seemed pleased with them!  Lia Sophia was there and they let us choose a piece of jewelry and I got a beautiful necklace.  I love Lia Sophia products!  Kmart was there as well showing off their new line of jewelry that’s cute and affordable along with Hanes.  There were a few more people there and they also gave us a great swag bag full of fun products.  If you’d like you can read a list of the sponsors of the swag bag here.

What I enjoyed the most there was they had a nice sitting area where we could relax a little bit and socialize.  Pier One set up all the furniture and they did a great job!

Once we were done there we visited a few of the BlogHer sponsor sweets including My Blog Spark which had a bunch of products from General Mills for us to try, Hershey’s where we made Smores, Firefox and we chatted with a few PR Reps from Ketchum.  That was nice to be able to sit and brainstorm with them!

After that I changed into a dress for our 3 evening events.  I don’t dress up very much being a stay at home mom so it was nice to dress up and go out!!  The first place we stopped was at the Aiming Low EZPZ Party.   That was held at the Robert Restaurant on Columbus Circle.  We were pretty high up, maybe the 11th floor, can’t quite remember but the view was beautiful!! I couldn’t help but take some pictures, in between glasses of yummy wine and even yummier appetizers!!  I met a few bloggers there and really enjoyed the atmosphere.  I didn’t want to leave! It was a great party but we had to move on.  Remember I said it was a busy day and we still had 2 more places to go!! But I was having a blast… especially after a few glasses of wine!

Our next stop was the Mouthy Housewives party which was held at the 48 Cocktail Lounge.   Again there I met up with some blogger friends and we continued to socialize, drink and just plain enjoy ourselves.  LG was their main sponsor and not only did they give us a really NICE swag bag, but LG is also sending us a Vacuum Cleaner!! I’m so excited about that!!!

And then finally we ended our evening atop the The Buckingham Hotel in the Penthouse for a Hallmark Christmas themed party!  It was a beautiful night and we enjoyed sitting out on the balcony, admiring the view and relaxing while socialize with more bloggers.  I met so many bloggers from so many different backgrounds, it was so much fun!

Whew!  What a busy day but the next day was going to be just as busy however we had a 7am breakfast that I really didn’t want to miss!!  More on Day 3 soon!
