My Thoughts: I love the changes they have made to the Platinum Brewer. The bigger reservoir was a brilliant idea and it makes a huge difference. I always make the biggest cup possible on my Keurig so I was usually filling it up at least once a day if not more with all the coffee I drink. Now I can go at least 2 days before I have to fill it again. It’s wonderful. The idea of the Keurig is convenience so a bigger reservoir makes it more convenient. I also find the flip top lid more convenient as well so I can just pour the water in, rather than taking it off the base to do.
I’m also really enjoying brew over ice selections especially the new additions. I love unsweetened tea and I haven’t found one I liked yet to use with the Keurig because they all get watered down when they brew over ice. But the new Celestial Seasonings Unsweetened Black Tea isn’t like that at all. It’s still quite strong even after all the ice melts and you add more! It’s defiantly formulated with the idea in mind that ice is going to melt and add more water too it. So it’ doesn’t taste watered down.
The Half and Half is actually my favorite. It’s half black tea and half lemonade so if you like to add lemon to your tea, this one is a great choice. But again, because it’s formulated to brew over ice, it doesn’t get watered down.
I also tried the Hazelnut brew over ice and as like the tea it was perfect and so much better than just brewing the regular hazelnut k-cup over ice, which I have done in the past. It had more hazelnut flavor to it this way for sure.
