My kids love cereal and they have two all time favorites – Lucky Charms and Cheerios (yellow box). When they were little they were very picky eaters. I asked our family doctor for some ideas on what to do at dinner time because I didn’t want to cook a bunch of different meals. She told me to give them what I made and if they didn’t like it have one thing they can eat instead. But it always had to be the same thing. My husband and I talked about what this item would be and we decided it would be Cheerios. We knew they liked them so they’d at least eat something but we figured after a while of having Cheerios they’d get sick of them and eat what we were eating.
They seemed perfectly content with having Cheerios for dinner most nights. They knew it was their only other option if they didn’t like what I put in front of them. And guess what? It didn’t last very long, eventually they started eating more foods so I guess it worked! And they never got sick of Cheerios and still eat them today!
