PowerSkin

This post is Sponsored by PowerSkin but my opinions are 100% my own!

I have a Samsung Galaxy S III and I love it!  One of my favorite phones yet!   I use it so much.  It’s like a mini computer.   Most of the pictures I take are taken on this phone, I also use it for video.  I’m constantly checking my email and surfing the web.  Especially while having lunch or walking to get the girls from school.  Yes, I am addicted to my phone and I would be lost without it.

So when the battery dies by around 5pm,  I am lost especially if I’m heading out for the evening and won’t be able to plug it in for long.  I’ve used some traveling battery packs before and while those work good, it’s something extra to take with me.    In comes the PowerSkin which is a phone case and traveling battery pack in one!

First of all it’s a nice case and it keeps my phone protected very well.  I’ve had it on my phone for well over a week now and it stays on good and I can access all the buttons along the side of my phone very easily.   That being said, it’s much thicker than the case I was using but I can deal with that because of what it does.

The case goes on the phone very easily.  The only thing I missed when I first put it on, is the ‘plug’ that attaches to the phone that is inside the bottom of the PowerSkin.   This is how the battery case connects to the phone and charges it.  On the back of the PowerSkin is the battery level and on/off switch.  There are lights to show you how much battery power you have in the PowerSkin so you know when to charge it.

When you first get the PowerSkin Battery Case, it has a small charge in it, but you have to charge it up fully to really use it.  It comes with a USB cable that you can plug right into your computer to charge.  I have a USB outlet on one of my house plugs so I use that.   Once the PowerSkin is fully charged you can unplug it and turn it off until you need to use it.

How does it really work?   When my phone battery level gets low,  I turn on the PowerSkin and let it charge until my phone battery is fully charged again.  And while this is happening, I can use my phone however I need, and it’s not attached to the wall.  Once my phone is fully charged, I shut off the PowerSkin battery.   I only got one charge out of it before I had to charge the case again and it didn’t fully charge my battery.  But it definitely worked and probably charges my battery about 75% on average.   It also depended on whether I used it while charging or not.  That made a huge difference.

This is so cool and the design has so many benefits.  Like I said above it’s a nice phone case that keeps my phone well protected.   It has a nice extended battery to help me get through the day and then some.  It’s perfect for traveling because the only thing you need to take with you is the USB cord.  And it happens to be the same one (micro) that I use to charge my phone.   I’m already taking that with me so really there is nothing else to take.   You can use it anywhere, anytime and that is what I love.   Even though it is a little thicker than my other phone case, it still fits in my pocket and of course in my purse.

This is now my favorite case!
