Product Information: Mom’s Best cereals are a delicious, affordable and environmentally friendly way to do what’s best for the people around your breakfast table and around the planet. Free of artificial ingredients, flavorings, coloring, and preservatives, Mom’s Best offers eleven delicious cold cereals. We put the highest quality into our cereals while keeping costs as low as possible. Our commitment to you goes beyond the natural goodness of our cereal. We strive to make choices that benefit families, enhance our communities and sustain the environment:

  • We support renewable energy by purchasing 100% of the electricity consumed by production of our natural cereals from Windsource®* and Blue Sky℠. Since 2006, we’ve purchased more than 7 million kilowatt hours of renewable wind energy, a benefit equal to taking nearly 1,000 cars off the road!
  • We also have active programs at our plants to reduce energy and minimize water use. Since 1996, our Northfield, Minnesota plant has reduced the amount of water used to make cereals by 41% and we’ve reduced our energy use by 10%.
  • Between 2008 – 2009, our Utah plant reduced water usage equivalent to conserving more than 7.8 million gallons. That equals 18 football fields covered with a foot of water!
  • We have many recycling programs throughout our company. More than 95% of waste materials are recycled at our Minnesota plant**. Our cartons are made from 100% recycled paperboard, with a minimum of 35% post-consumer content, and the boxes are printed with vegetable –based inks.

My thoughts: I received samples of the Blue Pom Wheat-fuls, Sweetened Wheat-fuls, Toasted Cinnamon Squares, and Mallow Oats for our review. My family loves cereal and we’ve never tried Mom’s Best cereals so I was anxious to receive them.
My girls know cereal brands and they know what they like, but they are always open to trying new things, well some new things. Cereal isn’t usually hard to get them to try because for them it’s a fun treat.

The first ones we dove into were the Mallow Oats. It’s similar to one of their favorite cereals that they don’t get all the time because they usually eat the marshmallows and not the cereal. But this time they enjoyed it all. It tasted just as good as the one they were used to and the marshmallows were of course, yummy!

Then we had the Cinnamon Squares which were my favorite. Put cinnamon on it and I love it. The cereal stayed crisp in the milk long enough to eat it all, which is always a plus for me. I hate mushy cereal.

Then my oldest wanted to have the Blue Pom Wheat-fuls next but she wanted them dry not in milk. I wasn’t sure she was going to like them but she did! It’s funny because I never know what they will like sometimes. She did also have them in milk and enjoyed them that way as well. I liked them as well and they weren’t too sweet so I didn’t feel guilty giving them to her as a breakfast or a snack.

We still have the last box to try but I’m sure we will enjoy them as well. I love companies that do things better for the environment and kudos to Mom’s Best for making sure the environment isn’t sacrificed for their product.
