New England Hair Cuttery Salons would love your help to Support Tornado Relief here in New England. For every haircut this Saturday and Sunday (6/11-6/12) they will donate $2.00 to the Red Cross for Tornado relief and recovery efforts in Western Massachusetts. Hair Cuttery will match donations made from the salons across the state up to $5,000 in an effort to help the towns that were most affected by this.
Participating Hair Cutterys include salons in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire.
Hair Cuttery customers can also support the American Red Cross by making a donation to the disaster relief fund. To donate, visit www.redcross.org, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or text the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
My in laws live in Western Massachusetts and luckily they are fine. But within a mile of them is not. Downtown Springfield Massachusetts was hit pretty hard. I do realize this is nothing compared to the devastation in Joplin but this isn’t something anyone around here is even prepared for as it’s very rare for Tornadoes in New England. One of my husbands employees lives in Monson Massachusetts which was hit very hard as well. Most of his neighbors lost everything. I can’t even imagine. He’s been helping with the clean up as has another friend of ours Christine, who also lives in the area. She wrote a blog post about the weekend she spent cleaning up. It’s just so sad what a natural disaster and do and there’s not much we can do about it except pick up and start over again.
