Walmart12days2-1

I absolutely love when companies give back and that is exactly what Walmart is doing with their 12 Days of Giving Program.  They will be giving a total of $1.5 million in grants to local communities across the country.  These grants will provide the basic needs of people like food, diapers, coats, baby formula and cold weather clothing to those that need it.  And there are a lot of people who need it!

But the best part of this program is that YOU can help those around you, in your own community because you can nominate a local nonprofit to receive one of these grants!  Now through November 18 you can vote for local nonprofits on Facebook. Then on December 10, Walmart will start the “12 Days of Giving,” by announcing the winning nonprofits that were nominated on Facebook!!!

Everyone can do this.  You don't have to be a blogger and you don't have to give anything yourself, just the time it takes to nominate someone.

I submit a nomination for a local nonprofit -The Jonnycake center of Westerly.  They have a food bank that supplies food to families in my old neighborhood. I've had the opportunity to meet some of these families when I taught a workshop on making your grocery dollars stretch.  I even took a few of them shopping and showed them how to shop the sales and use coupons.   I enjoyed meeting those that attended my workshop.  They are just regular people who just need some help.  I think it's wonderful what the Jonnycake Center does for them and I'd love to see them win a grant!

Now it's your turn.  Just head on over to the 12 Days of Giving page and nominate your favorite nonprofit organization.  It's real easy and will only take you a few minutes.  Could mean a lot to them if they win!

So who are you going to nominate?
