Seasons Harvest

Seasons Harvest provides gourmet foods that are naturally good, without chemicals or additives.   Today more and more people are paying attention to what’s in the food they eat. They always thought that was a good idea, not just because it makes sense to eat good, natural foods, but because it tastes so good too.

SeasonsHarvest.com has a great variety of foods made with quality ingredients.  We received a fun package from Seasons Harvest that contained the items below.

Times Remembered Dessert Toppings

Peanut Butter Chocolate Fudge – For some time we have been working with our recipe to achieve the perfect combination marrying our two favorite flavors, rich chocolate fudge to creamy peanut butter. Now all of you addicted to these two daily basics, this is the answer. And maybe you will just eat it out of the jar too, as we have been known to do!!  Yes, you can heat it, but don’t overheat, needs to retain that real creamy texture, but be certain to remove the top when heating.

Try these additional ideas for Peanut Butter Chocolate Fudge:

  • Sliced bananas spread with Peanut Butter Chocolate fudge perhaps with Nuts.
  • Peanut Butter Chocolate Fudge Popcorn Balls.
  • Peanut Butter Chocolate Fudge on toast points / also filled celery stalks.

Butterscotch Schnapps – Buttery, rich, so smooth and thick, yet the haunting taste of schnapps ever so delicately coming through. Wow what it does for vanilla ice cream! When using as an ice cream topping, it is best stirred and heated, but not too hot, just warm.

Try these other ideas for Butterscotch Schnapps.

  • Baked apples cored and filled with Butterscotch Schnapps and after baking top again with Butterscotch Schnapps.
  • Apple Pie with Butterscotch Schnapps drizzled over the crust of the pie.
  • Butterscotch Schnapps mixed with either whipping cream or vanilla pudding and poured over slices of Angel Food cake.
  • Pear and Apple wedges drizzled with Butterscotch Schnapps.
  • Delicious on grilled peaches.
  • Rice Crispy treats made with Butterscotch Schnapps.

Temptation Classics Pasta Sauces

Marinara Sauce – Our marinara is a simple, elegant red sauce that can be served alone or be the base from which you create more complex sauces. It has minimal total fat and zero saturated fats.

  • Delicious with cooked ground beef as a topping for your eggplant parmesan.
  • For the daring, mix with chicken stock and flat noodles for a rich soup.

Puttanesca – A mélange of veggies with complex layers of flavors and a fabulous consistency that marries deliciously from sausage to pasta.

We eat a lot of pasta here so the Marinara Sauce and Puttanesca sauce were two I was excited to try and we loved them both.  I used the Marinara sauce with pasta one night.  Everyone loved it.  It had an amazing tomato flavor and the seasonings weren’t overwhelming yet it was full of garlic flavor that we LOVED!  I especially loved dipping my bread in the sauce.  So good!   The Puttanesca sauce I used one night when making sausage.  I like to cook the sausage and then add some tomato sauce to the pan before it finishes cooking to get some yummy flavor in it. I then top that over some ziti and it was delicious.  I didn’t tell my family what was in it before I served it just so they wouldn’t think about what they were eating and they loved it!!!  I would buy this one again for sure!

Then it was time for dessert.  Who doesn’t love dessert right?  No one in my house that’s for sure.  They would have preferred to have the dessert before the dinner especially when they heard one of them had peanut butter in it!  That’s always a top seller for getting them to eat anything.  I served both the Peanut Butter Chocolate Fudge and the Butterscotch Schnapps over Vanilla ice cream (not at the same time) and everyone LOVED them.

There are some great recipes on the SeasonsHarvest.com website for these products and one I found was the Butterscotch Schnapps cookies so we made them and they were absolutely delicious!!!  Lots of butterscotch flavor and I was thinking next time I might add some chocolate chips to the batch, because I think that would really intensify the taste!

Have you tried any of the Seasons Harvest products?  IF so I’d love to hear about them!
