While at BlogHer in NYC this summer, I had a chance to chat with some ladies that work with Slim Fast and they told me a little bit about their 3-2-1 program.   Basically it’s 3 Snacks – 2 Meal Bars/Shakes – 1 Meal (within reason, not an all you can eat buffet!).   Some of you may recall that earlier in the year I had been sick for 6 weeks with strep throat and ended up having my tonsils out (not fun when you are 36!).  From being sick all that time and then from having the surgery, I ended up losing 30lbs!  It was nice since it happened without me even realizing it.

I  managed to keep it off since then but now my bad habits have been creeping back up on me and I’ve gained 10lbs back.  I know.. not very good!

I decided to talk with the Slim Fast ladies about giving Slim Fast a try and they sent me a bunch of products to help me get started.  So Monday morning I set out to begin watching what I eat and incorporate Slim Fast into my day as much as I can.   I’m happy to say I’m off to a good start and down 5lbs already!  Now I know that’s not typical, a lot of it is water weight but also I consume a LOT of carbs when I’m bad and I get extremely bloated so carbs out of my diet for a few days does a good thing to my body.

One way I’ve changed my eating is that instead of having coffee and toast for breakfast, I’ve been having coffee and a Slim Fast Meal Bar.  I find the Fruit & Yogurt Trail Mix Bar is perfect for the morning.  I then have a piece of fruit mid morning instead of stopping for a cup of coffee and a donut!
