If you have a lot of candy, by the weekend you will probably not want to eat anymore.  I know I won’t!  And I don’t want my kids eating it all either.  There are so many creative ways of using your candy and I’ve compiled a list below.  If you have some ideas please share in the comments.

Donate it to The Troops!

Check with your Dentist (or search for local Dentist’s in your area HERE) to see if they are participating in the Halloween Candy Buy Back program which sends your unwanted candy to the troops!  Your child(ren) may get a prize or something else in exchange for their candy.

If your dentist doesn’t participate and you can’t find one near you that does, you can send the candy yourself. All the information for doing so can be found on the Halloween Candy Buy Back site.

Save it for Gingerbread Houses

My friend told me this morning one of the mom’s at her school lets them eat so much now and put the rest aside to use to decorate their Gingerbread Houses!  I thought that was a great idea because you’ll just have to spend money to buy more next month!

Leave it for the Candy Fairy

The candy fairy may visit your house and leave a prize (book, pencils, crafts) in exchange for the candy.  Of course then you still have to get rid of it, but it’s an easy way to get the kids to part with it!

Send it to work with your Spouse/Significant Other

My husband will be taking some candy into work for his employees on Monday.  Only one of them from his department has children so the rest of them will enjoy the candy and won’t be sick of it by then.  I say send it with your spouse/significant other because then it’s out of your reach!

Fill Pinata’s with it

My oldest has a birthday in November so I use leftover Halloween Candy (and clearance candy) to fill her Pinata yet.  It’s a great way to recycle and stretch out the amount of time they consume their candy.  I take a few each day from their stash and they have no idea!

Use it in Baking

Lots of candy that your little one’s received can be used in baking.  Pull out what you can use and then you’ll have it handy for your holiday baking.  Lets face it, the holidays are coming fast and you’ll just have to buy more.  And the kids will probably have fun picking out candy they can include in baked goods too!  M&’M’s are great in cookies,  Chocolate Bars make great candy shavings, Snickers bars would be yummy in brownies, Skittles would be great on top of cupcakes!
