For the first time Weight Watchers is officially endorsing a branded product in the bread aisle – Arnold Sandwich Thins, the original 100 calorie thin roll!  Each of the six flavors has a PointPlus value of 3, making it easier for you to stay on track while enjoying your favorite thin rolls!

I’ve done Weight Watchers in the past and knowing that they now endorse something other than their own brand, makes me very happy to try it!  I received some of the Arnold Sandwich Thins Rolls to try to let me tell you, these are pretty tasty for only 3 points per thin!

I eat a lot of eggs for breakfast or egg white omelets when trying to control my morning carb intake so I decided to have egg sandwich with the Arnold Sandwich Thins Multi-Grain rolls and it was so good!  I toasted the Sandwich Thin lightly but didn’t add any butter.  I cooked the egg over easy with Pan cooking spray and added one slice of cheese.  It was so yummy and filling.  The Multi-Grain roll added so much flavor to it and helped to fill me up.  I haven’t done the points system in a while so I’m not sure what the total point value was, but I know it wasn’t that high!

The Multi-Grain Thins were also delicious with some peanut butter and a banana!  My youngest loves peanut butter and banana sandwiches and she loved it on the Sandwich Thins too!

I also received some recipes to try with these Sandwich Thins and made a Margherita Pizza on the Whole Wheat Sandwich Thins roll.  I enjoy a thin crust pizza so this was perfect to use as the crust (in my opinion!).    Just Separate Sandwich Thins® roll and spread marinara sauce evenly on each half.  Add mozzarella and Parmesan cheese to each half.  Sprinkle on oregano or other Italian seasonings of your choice!   Place pizzas on a baking sheet and bake for 3 to 5 minutes to heat and infuse all the flavors. Let the pizzas cool for 1 minute and top each with one basil leaf.   These were perfect for a quick-lunch pizza with a salad and so much better than the frozen pizza options out there!     This is a great way for me to stay on track and also offer my kids something fun and yummy to make.  They each add their own toppings so it’s perfect!

Another recipe I tried was the Orchard Grilled Cheese made on the Whole Wheat Thins.  You’ll need some apples and pears for this sandwich and before you think that’s pretty weird in a grilled cheese, try it!  Just slice up the apples and  place them on bottom half of the Sandwich Thins®roll.  Top with cheese, pear slices, and lastly, the top Sandwich Thins® roll side.  Then spray a nonstick skillet with nonfat canola oil spray.  I used Pam.   Add the sandwich to the pan and cook over medium heat until light brown. Flip carefully to cook and brown on the other side.  I had trouble doing this without everything falling out.   After the cheese has completely melted, remove from the pan and enjoy!  It was such a good combination that I now have a favorite sandwich!

Have you tried any of the Arnolds Sandwich Thins rolls?  Have you made some fun Sandwich or meals with them?  If so I’d love to hear what you think.  And if you haven’t tried them I suggest you do!  Any sandwich would taste better with one and may be a healthier choice.

It’s a New Year so I need to start thinking about more NEW Choices to become healthier.  It’s a yearly struggle but as long as I keep trying, I’ll always win!
