    We notice a huge difference in how hard our a/c unit has to work to cool the house when we forget to change the filter on at least a monthly basis. Staying on top of clean air ducts helps us save energy.

    I am putting things like the stereo and other energy hogs on surge protector-power strips so I can turn them off easily when not in use.

    We are unplugging cords, turning off unused electronics, and using shorter dryer cycles. (It’s still too cold and wet to hang dry things here.)

    I used to buy a lot of bottled water but now I use a reusable water bottle and just fill it up with tap water so that I can take it places with me.

    I also use cloth diapers when I am at home. I use disposables when we are out, but cloth at home.

    Got a great tip from the water company….I will turn off the outside water connection at the meter to turn off all the outside faucets at once! We got a seperate meter for our outside faucets afew years ago and have already saved ALOT. This tip will make turning them off even easier!
