This post is Sponsored by CVS/Pharmacy but my opinions are 100% my own!

CVS/Pharmacy recently launched a new line called Total Home.  It includes products that you use every single day in your home, but at a more affordable price then the national brands.   You can save 15-20% when you purchase the Total Home products, which can add up a lot over time.  Especially for those moments when you really need something, but it’s not on sale and you don’t have a coupon.   Unfortunately, we don’t all have a budget that allows us to buy whatever we want, whenever we want and CVS/Pharmacy gets that, they really do!

About Total Home

The Total Home line includes a wide range of products for everyday home care, ranging from cleaning and cooking to organizing, and has undergone rigorous quality testing to offer customers exceptional, reliable options at a 15-20 percent savings compared to popular national brands. Among the more than 150 items included in the line are facial and bath tissue, paper towels, trash bags, food storage necessities, kitchen and bathroom cleaners, bulbs, extension cords and more.

Now how do they compare to the National Brand?  I received an assortment of Total Home products to try in my home.  They sent me the following items:

2013-10-15 12.42.43Total Home Plastic Wrap
Total Home Storage Bags
Total Home Fabric Softener Sheets
Total Home Facial Tissue
Total Home Disinfecting Wipes
Total Home Ultra Soft Toilet Paper
Total Home Flushable Wipes

The Facial Tissues are super soft and honestly I’m not sure I’d even know that they were not the national brand.  I’ve bought cheap tissues before and sometimes they are thin and almost see thru.  These are not like that and I was happy with the quality and how they stood up to other brands.

The Ultra Soft Toilet Paper was super soft, 2 ply and didn’t fall apart when using it.  It did have a lot of lint, sort of like another brand we’ve used before that gives off a lot of lint.  I only mention this because I know that turns people off.  So if that is you then you don’t want to use this one, but if you don’t care about the lint then I say give it a try the next time you need some toilet tissue because I found it to work well and be just as good as the national brands.  This sells for about $3.49 for a 4 pack of 2 ply tissue.

I hate when I buy an inexpensive package of storage bags and they are super thin.  I’m afraid to really trust them if they are too thin.  So I was happy to see the Total Home Storage Bags are not thin and are pretty sturdy.   I don’t think I’ll ever skimp on these again and get them at the dollar store now that I’ve tried the Total Home ones.  They are much better and still well below the National Brand.    These sell for about $3.19 for a box of 20.

The Disinfecting Wipes also didn’t seem any different then the national brand I’ve used.  The clothes are not too thin and worked well at cleaning up small spills.   I keep a tub of these under my sink and wipe my counters and island down at the end of the day so I know that all the germs are gone.  I also use them to wipe all the knobs on the cabinets and refrigerator handles.  They have a nice and clean lemon scent and worked just as well as any others I’ve used.   This is a product I will probably keep in my house at all times now as I can’t see spending more for these.  Especially when I go through so many of them.

I don’t use Fabric Softener Sheets very often.  Once it gets colder and we have more static on my clothes, then I toss them in with our clothes but other than that I don’t use them.  So these seemed fine to me but I haven’t tried them yet.  Not sure what would make them much different from the rest so I can’t imagine they won’t work.  I’m not hoping for the colder weather to come anytime soon so I can try them.  But I will eventually.  This box sells for $3.99 for 80 sheets.

I’m not a big fan of plastic wrap.  So many times it doesn’t stick to what I’m trying to cover, but of course it always sticks to itself as I pull it out of the box.  I actually have a love/hate relationship with it.  When it works, it’s extremely helpful, but when it doesn’t, it drives me crazy.   I used the Plastic Wrap few times but I have covers for most of my bowls that I use so I only used it a few times.  But I can tell you that it actually ripped off very easily, which is another frustration of mine and seemed to stick well.  It’s a pretty big box so it should last me a while, so we’ll see!   You will pay about $3.99 for 250 sq ft of plastic wrap.

The kids use the Flushable Wipes all the time and I’m not really brand loyal to these at all.  I seriously only buy what’s on sale or I have a coupon for.  I was happy to have them try these as I figured they’d work just as well because I can’t imagine CVS/pharmacy making a product that my family would be using in their area of their body, that wouldn’t work well.  LOL  And for $2.49 a package, I’m not sure I’ll buy another brand again because even with sales and coupons, I can rarely get them for less than that.  Such a great price.

There are over 150 products in the Total Care line at CVS/Pharmacy, so try some and let me know what you think!
