LA Trip Event

Disclosure: This post is part of an all expenses paid press trip to Los Angeles that I will be taking in May which is provided by Disney.  All thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.  All giggles and squeals will also belong to me while attending these events in LA!

I’m so excited to share with you that next month I will be heading to Los Angeles from Sunday, May 4th – Wednesday, May 7th to attend the red carpet premiere of MILLION DOLLAR ARM which is  opening in theaters on May 16th!!!  You may recall my first Red Carpet experience last August which was absolutely A-M-A-Z-I-N-G….. And I’m so excited to be able to do it again.  I was afraid I may have been too star struck to be invited back again, but I guess not!!!

million dollar arm

Million Dollar Arm star John Hamm who you may know from Mad Men who is SO HANDSOME along with Bill Paxton and Alan Arkin who I also adore and are great actors!!!   I’m hoping to bump into them at the pre-party!!   I saw the trailer for this movie not to long ago and told my husband I wanted to see it – and now I can.  But without him :-(.  I’ll just have to go again once it’s out.

About Million Dollar Arm

Based on a true story, sports agent JB Bernstein (Jon Hamm) finds that business has changed and things aren’t going well for his career. In a last ditch effort to save his livelihood he concocts a scheme to find baseball’s next great pitching ace. Hoping to find a young cricket pitcher he can turn into a major league baseball star, JB travels to India to produce a reality show competition called “The Million Dollar Arm.” With the help of cantankerous but eagle-eyed retired baseball scout Ray Poitevint (Alan Arkin), he discovers Dinesh (played by Madhur Mittal from “Slumdog Millionaire”) and Rinku (played by Suraj Sharma from “Life of Pi”), two 18-year-old boys who have no idea about playing baseball, yet have a knack for throwing a fastball. Hoping to sign them to major league contracts and make a quick buck, JB brings the boys home to America to train. While the Americans are definitely out of their element in India, the boys, who have never left their rural villages, are equally challenged when they come to the States. As the boys learn the finer points of baseball, JB, with the help of his charming friend Brenda (Lake Bell), learns valuable life lessons about teamwork, commitment and what it means to be a family.

Sounds good, right?   Besides going to the red carpet premiere of Million Dollar Arm,  I will also be able to interview some cast and filmmakers from the movie, but we don’t know who yet.  I’ve got my fingers crossed for John Hamm!!!

starwars

Since I’ll be arriving in LA on Star Wars Day (May 4th) – you know the an unofficial fan-inspired holiday that celebrates all things Star Wars  “May the 4th Be With You“- I will be joining the rebellion for a dinner celebrating all things Star Wars, in honor of the upcoming release of the all-new animated series STAR WARS REBELS!  We will get to see an exclusive sneak peek of footage from Star Wars Rebels which will be premiering on the Disney Channel and Disney XD in the fall.   My girls are SUPER excited about this and they are sad I get to go and they don’t.   They are very big Star Wars fans and we celebrate May 4th every year!  They can’t wait to her about this part of my trip the most.

Jimmy

I will also attend a live taping of Jimmy Kimmel LIVE! and meet with executive Producer Jill Leiderman before the show to chat and afterwards, Jimmy’s trusty security guard Guillermo Rodriguez will give us a tour of the set!

mistresses

We will also mix, mingle and chat with the creators/executive producers of a variety of ABC shows about their upcoming season finales & summer premieres AND visit the set of ABC’s sassy summer drama, Mistresses, where we will meet & greet some cast members for interviews!   I am really hoping that Alyssa Milano is one of them because I’ve adored her since I was a kid and she was on Who’s The Boss!  Fingers crossed.

And while all of this is SO VERY EXCITING, one of the best parts is not just being in Sunny California for 4 days but I get to be there with 24 other bloggers – so I’ll get to make new friends too!  Love that part of traveling.  Two bloggers attending this trip I’ve met before but the other 22 I haven’t.  It should be fun.

It will be a very busy few days and once I return I’ll be sharing all of my adventures with you.   You can following along on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with #MillionDollarArmEvent, #ABCTVEvent and #StarWarsRebelsEvent!!!
