I’m so excited to share with you that I am a Nutrisystem Nation Blogger and I’ll be following the Nutrisystem program and sharing my weekly progress right here on the blog.

I just completed my 7th week on Nutrisystem and I lost an additional 2.6 lbs for a total of 20.1 lbs so far.

This week I stayed on plan exactly and we didn’t eat out at all.  Before I started Nutrisystem I jumped at the opportunity to eat out.  That meant not only did I not have to cook dinner for everyone, but I’d also get a real yummy meal.  That yummy meal of course was also high in calories.  I stress  over eating out and seriously it’s easier to just eat at home then to go out.  My family is pretty simple to cook for, I’m the one who likes more of a variety.  Now that I have these yummy Nutrisystem meals for me, I don’t need to leave the house for the variety.

I think a lot of people think that Nutrisystem is only the meals they send you.  I actually wasn’t sure of this before I started either so I thought I’d share with you my menu on a typical day along with a few variations.  The first few weeks I really had to think a lot about what I was going to eat, which can be stressful but not so much anymore.  After 7 weeks it’s more natural.

  Typical Daily Menu on Nutrisystem

Breakfast

Nutrisystem Breakfast Entree
Nutrisystem Shake (full of protein!)
Smart Carb which usually is a fruit (banana) or a piece of wheat toast with a pat of butter
Black Coffee
8 oz glass of water or more

Mid Morning Snack

1 Tablespoon of Peanut Butter
8 oz glass of water

Lunch

Nutrisystem Lunch Entree
Salad with at least 3-4 servings of veggies (usually includes any of the following lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, onions, cucumbers)
Low Fat dressing
2 PowerFuels (Proteins) – I add these to my salad and are usually 2 of the following –  Low Fat string cheese, sliced almonds, turkey pepperoni
8 oz glass of water or more

Afternoon Snack

Smart Carb (I tend to have a serving of whole wheat crackers, a slice of wheat bread toasted with a cup of black coffee or a fruit if I don’t have it at breakfast)
Black Coffee or 8 oz glass of water

Dinner

Nutrisystem Dinner Entree
1 SmartCarb (either some brown rice or a slice of wheat bread/wrap)
Veggies of my choice if I need more veggies or decide to add more food to my plate
8 oz glass of water or more

Dessert

Nutrisystem Dessert Entree
Black Coffee or 8 oz Glass of water or more

I also keep a glass of water with me at all times so I drink more than just with my meals.  The water keeps me full as well.

And seriously I am NEVER hungry.
I tend to eat  every 2-3 hours and as long as I stick to that then I don’t get hungry.  I even have to remind myself to eat at times.  Now I can switch this up a bit if I want.  For example if I notice by the afternoon I’m not drinking as much water as I should be drinking then I’ll have my Dessert entree for my afternoon snack and have something with chocolate in it because that will get me to drink about 16 ounce of water along with it.   Or if I want to have two pieces of toast with my breakfast then I won’t have the afternoon snack of a smart carb and use that one with my breakfast.   But most days I stick to the 6 meals a day.

I also don’t use cream in my coffee anymore.  I developed a love for black coffee (with one equal) so that has been  a nice way to cut out some normal calories.  Otherwise I would have to add that into my calorie intake every single day and when you have 3-4 cups of coffee a day, it adds up quickly.  I’d rather eat my calories then drink them.  Black coffee is essentially calorie-free with only 10 calories.  So 3-4 cups of coffee (the most I’ll have, not an everyday thing) doesn’t really add up to much.

So that is a typical day of what I eat so I’m pretty satisfied at times.  I don’t have a lot of cravings anymore because I don’t eat any white sugar/flour for the post part and that’s what causes my cravings.

I still have a long way to go and I’m going to keep on going!

Week 1 – 8.8 lbs

Week 3 – 1 lb
Week 4 – 2.7 lbs
Week 5 – .6 lbs
Week 6 – 1.9 lbs
