I just completed my 31st week on Nutrisystem and I’m excited to share that I lost 6.5 lbs for a total weight loss of 49.9 lbs lost.   You can imagine my surprise when I saw such a wonderful weight-loss after my first weight gain.  But like I said last week, I figured most of it was water weight, especially from flying the day before and it looks like I was correct.

I really stuck to my plan this past week and drank a lot of water every single day.  By the end of the day I was running to the bathroom every 30 minutes but I didn’t mind because I knew it was what I had to do.    But with Thanksgiving this past week, I figured I wouldn’t have as much success in shedding all the weight I gained but then I got sick.    We all got sick except my husband and you can read about it in this post.  I think we had the flu but I’m not positive.  But I did have a fever, body aches, runny nose and then congestion.  Due to all of this I didn’t eat much on Wednesday or Thursday since I didn’t have much of an appetite.  And then over most of the weekend I was pretty congested and couldn’t smell or taste anything so again, my appetite wasn’t that big.   I’m sure all of that aided in my weight-loss this past week but it is what it is.  I’m feeling better now and back on track to keep up this month through the rest of the holiday.

Even though I was excited to see my wonderful weight-loss this week, I was also disappointed that it wasn’t .1 lbs more because then I’d hit 50 pounds.   I’ve never lost 50 lbs, I’ve always had that much and more to lose, but I’ve never gone past 30 lbs.  I’m SO EXCITED to have gone as far as I have and SO EXCITED to keep losing and lose more.  I’m in this for the long run and I’m not stopping anytime soon and I’m very excited to see just how far I can get before it stops.  I figure at some point my body isn’t going to shed the weight as easily but we are still far from there.

I’m hoping that my vacation weight gain has jump started my weight loss and even though this month comes with a lot of holiday celebrating,  I hope I can at least maintain my 50ish pound loss into the New Year.  I’ll try my best!

I still have a long way to go and I’m going to keep on going!
