Scott Naturals Tube-Free bath tissue 8-pack is not only made up of 40% recycled fiber, it is now tube-free, meaning it rolls the same, and feels the same, all while helping take a greener step without sacrificing quality. Today, U.S. households dispose of an estimated 17 billion bath tissue tubes annually, which is equal to…Over 160 million pounds of trash, enough material to fill more than 250 Boeing 747 airliners, enough material to fill the Empire State Building twice, equivalent to the weight of more than 350 Statues or Liberty, over 1 million miles long (lined end-to-end), circling the earth’s equator over 45 times, and traveling from the earth’s surface to the moon…more than twice. Products like this will help change this.
What a great idea! Even though cardboard is recyclable how many of you really recycle the cardboard from the toilet paper roll? I bet not many of you do so why not try it without the roll? I mean how much do we really need it?
I will be honest, the first roll that I pulled out of the packaged looked weird and I didn’t think it would fit on the roll. Of course it was squished together since it didn’t have a tube in it. So I grabbed the roll and shoved it in. It didn’t work right away, I had to use my hands to open it a bit but once I did it went right in. Each time after that (of course I’m the only one who changes the roll so I did it over and over again) it was easier and easier to get on. So really the roll wasn’t missed…. at all!
It rolled the same, it worked the same, once it was on we didn’t even know the tube wasn’t there. Overall I think it’s a GREAT idea! But what I loved the most is that once the roll was empty there was nothing there to take off.

What a great idea! I only buy Scott bath tissue because it’s more economical and we love it. We recycle the paper wrapping the tissue comes in and the cardboard tube as habit, but this is even easier! This is a great step for all of those people who don’t recycle it! I’m excited for this product!

This is Wonderful!!! I had no idea this existed before reading this review! Yes, cardboard tubes are recyclable—I recycle. But eliminating the need for the energy spent on the recycling processes, not needing to produce the tubes in the first place is a HUGE savings! Please keep your eye out for tubeless paper towels.

Yes, it is a great idea. There really is no point to the cardboard roll other than to keep the roll from squishing. And as you pointed out, all you have to do is unsquish the roll to get it on the toilet paper holder on the wall. Easy!

sounds great
I’ve never heard of this before, but it sounds like a great idea. The cardboard doesn’t really serve a great purpose and just ends up filling landfills. I will definitely be looking for this at the store!
Its about time! Yeah
A great idea. I have not tried but would love to. I assume the roll still keeps its shape? Curious.
I think this is a fabulous idea! Just think of how many natural resources will be saved! I haven’t tried them yet, but really want to. The only thing that I would miss is that the empty rolls make fabulous kitten toys on a tile floor! (makes a little noise, but not too much, moves in all different directions, not too heavy, AND they can put their paws in!). But, since I’ve re-homed all 5 of the kittens from the feral cat in my yard (and had her neutered…) no more need for that!
a great idea
Great idea. This would be less waste.
I haven’t tried it yet nor have i seen this yet, but Scott Bath Tissue is the only thing we use in our house, we have tried others, but they blog up my toilet, but Scott’s never has. Thanks for this giveaway and I will definitely be watching for it in the stores.

Sounds like a great idea. I never even thought about recycling the cardboard tubes!
I think it’s a great idea in concept. I’m all about saving waste and everything. But I have a cat who likes to unroll the toilet paper. There isn’t really a way to re-roll it onto nothing! And I also have small kids who do the same thing. They go to get toilet paper and pull too hard and unroll half of the roll. Seems like it’d be tough to try to get the TP back into the roller, without the cardboard.

I’m not thrilled with this concept for a couple of reasons. They will promote this as green and charge more for the product. Yet in reality, they will save a lot of money producing this and therefore double their profits. We will no longer have tubes for crafts and other projects.
I think this is a great idea and I’m looking forward to trying it! I’m curious to see if it holds together by the end of the “roll.”

Sounds good to me, I take the rolls out of ours all the time only cause for some reason my BFs family think its ok to blow their noses and stick the used toilet paper they just blew into into the roll, oddly enough is I yank the cardboard roll out they dont do it. So this works for me 🙂

I love the idea of less waste but I am skeptical. I am also a little concerned about the price. It seems a bit high, but maybe worth it to live a little greener.
It makes since to me! I work at a hospital and our tp doesn’t have tubes in it!
Thanks so much!

It makes a lot of sense not to have all those cardboard tubes to throw away. I would like to try the new Scotts.
I love the idea. Saves trees by eliminating the need for all those tubed that get thrown away. Have not used them yet. But I am hoping to win this and if not, I will be on the lookout for them when I go shopping. at 8.50 for a pack of 8 that’s not bad at all.

I’ve never even heard of these, but it is a great idea.

Thanks for the giveaway…tried them, great concept to save natural resources, but the “tubes” in some of the rolls in our package were collapsed, a minor problem…

i am not crazy about this idea – seems like it would be tough to keep from squishing. and, i’m one of the people who does recycle the cardboard from the inside of the roll.

Tube Free Toilet Paper?
What a great idea. Many of us hate the hassle with the Toilet paper on its last sheet stuck to the cardboard. I would love to try it. 🙂
