Product Name: Softsoap Liquid Hand Soap and APHA hand washing timer
Product Information: Softsoap brand has teamed up with the American Public Health Association (APHA) to create unique “Get Ready” hand washing timers that easily attach directly to Softsoap brand soap pumps. When pressed, the timers play a fun song to help children stay engaged for a full 20 seconds to properly wash away germs. Pair these fun hand washing timers with the Softsoap Foam Works Spongebob and Dora the Explorer Hand Soaps, and children are sure to be excited to spend at least 20 seconds washing their hands!
Our Thoughts: Hand washing can be a battle sometimes in my house. Let’s face it, kids don’t understand the importance…. at least mine don’t. They think that putting the soap on their hands and then rinsing it off qualifies as handwashing. NOT in MY BOOK! I’m constently telling them to rub the soap into their hands to really get them clean. And then of course there is the battle of making them also understand that they didn’t rinse their hands well enough and there is still soap on their hands.
Am I the only one with children like this?? I highly doubt it! lol
So I was very happy when our tube of Softsoap arrived with a hand washing timer. They thought it was a pretty neat concept too and they were eager to wash their hands. The timer works great because they can turn it on themselves and so far it’s been a hit. I do have to remind them from time to time to use it but for the most part the novelty of it hasn’t worn off yet! lol What I’m hoping for is that they will get used to the time and it will just be natural for them…. someday!

This is great! My 3 yr old is sitting beside me…the one who doesn’t understand the importance of washing her hands in our house. We came across this via my FB news feed and decided to check it out. We learned that we should be using all liquid soap instead of our bars of soap because it’s easier for her to handle! Thanks for this!

Thanks for the giveaway… I found that it’s usually around the age of 3 that they really grasp the idea of handwashing… also it’s best to use liquid soap rather than bars. Makes sense… Foam is even better for the little ones. Lots easier for them to rinse off.

I learned that I should set a good example for my children and grandsons, by washing my hands frequently to show that it is something they need to do… and also to let them choose their own scent, and liquid soap is usually the easiest for younger kids to use.
