thank you thank you thank you

so much for all your get well wish’s, advice and patience over the past week.  Let me tell you, having your tonsils out as a 36 year old adult isn’t fun.  I’ll take the flu, a head cold, a sinus infection, even a stomach bug any day but boy having this minor surgery showed a different side of me! LOL I’m so glad they don’t grow back.

I have so many people to thank for all their help this last week. I feel like I’m writing an acceptance speech for an award.  Then again for being sick the entire month of March and then some and still taking care of my family, home and my blog, maybe I should get an award.  But isn’t that what a mom does when she’s sick??  She just keeps on going.

My husband did great and let me rest per the doctor orders and took such great care of our girls and the house while I laid around having little mini breakdowns because nothing I ate tasted good.  Some people that have their tonsils out get this horrible taste in their mouth which makes eating and drinking even harder than it already is.  He bought me everything I wanted but nothing worked and each time I asked for something else, he got that too even though we both knew it wouldn’t work.  I pretty much slept, took my pain meds and whined for about 6 days.  LOL  But he took it all and did his best to help me heal and he did a great job. I’m a very lucky girl.

And my dauhters were so great and helpful too.  They’ve tried to be on their best behavior since mommy really couldn’t raise her voice much and my oldest Holly, who is 5, played mommy and did such a great job.  Nothing better than getting tucked in for a nap with a kiss on the cheek by your 5 year old little girl.  They let me nap on the couch and played quietly together, and got along too!  Not that it’s rare, but when I really need them to behave they seem to pull through for me.

And then there is my mom.  What would I do without my mom?  I have no idea and don’t even want to think about it.  She’s the best, especially when she comes over and just does what needs to be done.  I hope I am able to do the same for my girls when they are grown and still need me.  She’s a great example to follow.

And finally my blogging friends who helped to keep my awesome readers up to date with some cool deals.   It’s so great to have friends to help out when you need them.

I went to the doctor yesterday for my post-op review and he said everything looks great and I’m right where I should be.  I’ve got another week of eating soft foods and non strenuous activities and then I should be good to go.  I still have some pain and discomfort but it’s getting better everyday and I’m happy to report that the ice cream I had tonight tasted really good!  The only thing is I now have enlarged taste buds on my tongue so anything with acid burns.

But I’m back and I’ll be showing you some great ideas for Mother’s Day and even have some fun things to give away this week.  You know, the usual.

Thanks again for your patience and for sticking around while I took a little time off.  I love my readers!!  You are the best!!!
