Disclosure: This post is part of an all expenses paid press trip to Los Angeles provided by Disney.  All thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.  All giggles and squeals will also belong to me while attending these events in LA!

Sunday night, which just happened to be Star Wars Day (May 4th – May the 4th Be with You), I attended a dinner in honor of the day.   I grew up with Star Wars and played with all the action figures and play sets with my brother.  I wanted to be Princess Leia!  Like, so SO BAD!  My girls who are 7 and 9 are also Star Wars fans.  Actually my 9 year old is a HUGE Star Wars fan.  She recently asked me one day if she could watch one of the movies because it had been ‘way too long since she’d seen one and she really needed to”.  It was really cute.

But anyways, back to my dinner Sunday night.   We had the opportunity to interview Vanessa Marshall who is the voice of Hera on the new Star Wars Rebels which will premiere on Disney XD this summer.  Vanessa Marshall is a voice over actress that got her start as a stand up comic that did voices.  Which is how she was ‘discovered’ as a voice over actress.  She is the daughter of Joan Van Ark and absolutely beautiful! She is a cool, down to earth gal who likes to be the ‘mother’ on the set of Star Wars Rebels.

Vanessa Marshall was so friendly and SO Excited to meet us.  Before we even had the chance to ask her questions and show her how cool we really were, she kept telling us how cool she thought we were and how awesome it was that we were doing something we loved and fulfilling dreams by blogging.  She said she appreciated each and everyone one of us and I believe she really did because before she met us, she actually took the time to check out all our blogs and like us all on Facebook and she knew who we were!  It was really, really cool!

She loves what she does and she considers herself a Star Wars nerd (or geek) and knows all the movies in and out.  Sort of reminded me of my daughter!  She is so happy and feels so blessed to be apart of Star Wars Rebels and it truly shows when she speaks.  Vanessa Marshall is such a nice gal and I seriously could have listened to her for so much longer than we did.  Her excitement was so contagious that I can’t wait to see Star Wars Rebels this summer.

And being the Star Wars geek that Vanessa Marshall is, she’s VERY excited about Star Wars VII and was so happy with the release of the cast names.  But she said even though she’s involved in Star Wars Rebels, she doesn’t know anymore than we do about Star Wars VII.  You’d think they’d give her more info but they don’t.  But she’s super excited about it and can’t wait to see it.  In case you haven’t heard, they are bringing back a lot of the original cast members from Star Wars – Carrie Fischer, Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford!!!   Can’t wait!

Here I am with Chopper who is a new Star Wars Rebels character and Hera’s sidekick…
