Today is the 13th Day of Karen’s 2013 Holiday Gift Guide and today’s pick is the Ninja Ultima Blender!  Today’s pick is for something that mom (and maybe even dad) would probably love to add to their kitchen.   I’ve been wanting a Ninja for a long time and I’m very excited to have one now.   Since I’ve been eating better, I’ve been trying to find ways to get as many veggies into my day as I can.  But sometimes it’s just not possible.  Having a Ninja Ultima Blender means that I can now make smoothies and toss those veggies in!

Why smoothies?  Everyone I’ve ever heard talk about a Ninja Blender always talks about how awesome it is to make smoothies in.  So I checked out their website to see what it can do and there are lots of recipes for Smoothies on there.    They are broken down by categories like Metabolism Defense, Probiotics, Immune Support, Healing & Calming, Heart Healthy and more.  So if you had something specific in mind, it’s super easy to find a recipe for it.

There are so many yummy recipes that I am thinking of trying them all.  And some of them my kids would easily drink without even knowing they were good for them.

But the Ninja isn’t just good for smoothies, it’s also good for making soups!  Nice creamy and smooth soups like Butternut Squash Soup.  Cook all your ingredients like you would a regular lumpy soup, then once they cool add everything to the blender and slowly blend it until it’s creamy.  Then reheat your soup.  You can easily hide veggies in your soup this way if needed.  There is a great recipe on the Ninja website for Thai Butternut Squash Soup.  I omitted the hot stuff and made it.  It was AMAZINGLY delicious!

And it does so much more – hand mixer, food processor, ice cream maker (my kids will be very excited for this!), juicer, ice crusher, meat grinder, cheese grater, grain mill, milk press, nut butter maker and more according to the website.  I’m excited to use this to add in my holiday cooking and baking this year!

The Ninja Ultima Blender is more than just a food processor and now has a permanent spot on my counter!
