FREE Storia Reading App and Scholastic Breakfast at BlogHer

While in NYC last week for BlogHer, I was invited to the Scholastic headquarters for breakfast and a presentation of a new app they have to help kids with reading.  I received the invite last-minute because a spot opened up so I didn't have a chance to play with it before the breakfast so it was all new to me. And I loved it! It's called Storia, it's FREE and it's available for download on the iPad and on PC.  That's all for now but they are working on other devices soon.  You also get 5 FREE books when you download it.  You don't get to choose the books - everyone gets the same 5 but they are good books and my girls have been enjoying them this week. You can then purchase more books from...

Pepperidge Farm Milano Cookies at Trumpeting Media Event at BlogHer

Each year I attend BlogHer in August.  Well at least for the past 3 years I have.  It's a great opportunity to meet with other blogger's I've either worked with or admired from afar and a fantastic opportunity to connect with the brands or brand reps I've worked with or want to work with.  Because I've been blogging for 4 years now, I know a lot of them already but haven't met them all in person just yet. This trip I was able to meet some representatives from Pepperidge Farm at the Trumpeting Media Event that I attended on Thursday morning during my 5 days in NYC.  This is one company I haven't worked with yet and I hope to begin working with soon!  I was very excited to see them as it was...

Energizer Flameless Wax Candles at BlogHer

I've worked with the gal from Energizer a few times on some giveaways on the blog so I was super excited to get to meet her in person at BlogHer last week in NYC.  While I was there I got a peek at the NEW Energizer Flameless Wax Candles and they are super cool. They look, feel and smell like real candles but they aren't - they run on batteries (Energizer batteries work the best, I'm told!).  So if you don't like to light candles because you are afraid of the flame or you have children or in my case a husband who doesn't like flames, then these are for you. Don't they look like real candles in this picture??  -------------> That is how they had them on display for us at the conference...

Jimmy D’s Review & Giveaway ENDED

While at BlogHer in NYC earlier this month, I was interviewed by the Jimmy Dean Sun!  Yes the one from the commercial.. you know those really cute commercials where the weather is so much better once they eat a Jimmy Dean breakfast?  I love them.. even before I met the sun himself.  I always found them entertaining! Here is my interview with the Jimmy Dean Sun... They were at BlogHer to introduce a new line of breakfast products called Jimmy D's.  They are convenient solutions for busy moms to help them get their kids days off to a good start.  Very helpful right now with getting back into the school morning routines.  Not to mention they are hearty, satisfying and they only have 210...

I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter! Grilling Basket Giveaway ENDED

While at BlogHer in NYC earlier this month, I had the privilege of attending the Unilever PentHOuse and was able to sample some delicious dishes and speak with the Unilever Test Kitchen Chef Normajean.  I tried some yummy dishes and learned of a few new ways to use I Can't Believe It's Not Butter! Spray.  Honestly, as simple as it is, I never thought to use it on corn on the cob.  I know it's pretty obvious that it would be the easiest way to apply butter to corn on the cob but I will admit I always did it the hard way and used a knife and tried  my best to catch it before it fell off the corn.  Admit, you've done it too!  Well I don't do that anymore!  We've had corn on the cob twice...

Back To School Shopping at TJ Maxx & A Giveaway ENDED

If school hasn't already started in your area then it will be soon.  My oldest starts Kindergarten in 2 weeks and while I'm excited for her to begin the adventure into the public school system (ours is good, thankfully!) I'm also a little sad because it just proves that she is growing up, very quickly! But it's happening so I must deal with it.  And that includes shopping for back to school items.  I remember heading to the mall in August when I was young with my parents and my brother to buy cloths for the new school year.  It's just what you do!  I was excited when I was contacted by a representative from TJ Maxx & Marshall's asking me if I'd like to do some back to school shopping...
